Website Terms of Use
Effective August 6, 2026 · Version 1.0
These terms govern your use of stateadjusting.us (the “site”), operated by State Adjusting Services (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Using the site does not make us your adjuster
Submitting a form, calling us or emailing us does not create a public adjuster–client relationship. We represent a policyholder only after both sides sign a written public adjuster contract meeting Illinois requirements. Until that contract is signed, nothing on this site or in an initial conversation obligates either of us, and you should not rely on us to meet any deadline in your claim.
Information here is general, not advice
Everything we publish about insurance claims — guides, FAQs, claim-type pages — is general information about how property claims usually work. It is not legal advice, not insurance advice and not a coverage opinion. We are licensed public adjusters, not attorneys. Your own policy language, your specific damage and your carrier’s conduct decide your claim, and only a review of your actual documents can tell you where you stand. If your situation raises a legal question, speak with a licensed attorney.
No guaranteed outcome
We do not promise that a claim will be approved, reopened or paid at any particular amount, and nothing on this site should be read as such a promise. Claim results depend on the policy, the loss and the insurer.
Reviews and results
Reviews shown on this site were published by clients on our public Google Business Profile and are reproduced as written. The outcomes on our results page are as clients themselves described them publicly. They are examples, not typical results, and they are neither a prediction nor a guarantee for any other claim.
Licensing and regulatory information
State Adjusting Services is licensed as a public adjuster in the State of Illinois and regulated by the Illinois Department of Insurance under the Public Adjusters Law (215 ILCS 5, Article XLV). In Illinois only a licensed public adjuster or an attorney may negotiate an insurance claim on your behalf — a contractor may not. You can verify our license with the Illinois Department of Insurance before signing anything with us or with anyone else.
Our construction partner
State Adjusting Services and State Restoration Services are separate companies that work together, as described on our construction partner page. Engaging us does not obligate you to use that contractor or any other; you are free to hire whoever you choose to perform repairs.

The site is provided “as is”
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or current. To the fullest extent Illinois law allows, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date and version at the top of this page tell you which version applies. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts serving Lake County, Illinois are the venue for any dispute about this site.
